Dog Trainer Dunedin

Paws4Success has one goal: To use our knowledge to enable dog owners to have a peaceful and harmonious relationship with their dogs. Paws4Success, through personalised and interactive sessions, sets out to transform dogs and coach dog owners in understanding their dog's language -wolf- helping them to see the world through their dog’s eyes and coaching owners to apply the pack leadership pillars to effectively communicate with their dog. Our society is an unfamiliar world for our dogs, and they do not understand how it works. Therefore, to help dogs to adjust to our environment, they need to be guided by their leaders..

The personalised approach to puppy and adult dog training which Paws4Success offers provides a sound foundation for puppies to have a good start in life. This foundation teaches them to be well-behaved dogs around other dogs and people, as well as correcting unwanted behaviours in dogs by using leadership principles applied in wolf packs.

At Paws4Success, we set out to combine knowledge, experience and passion to coach you in communicating in wolf language with your dog resulting in the dog seeing you as the pack leader. When a dog sees its owner as the pack leader it trusts the pack leader for its security, safety and provision which in turn leads to a calm, settled, confident and obedient dog and ultimately to your happiness and the dog’s.

Profile - Hannah

Owner/Dog Trainer

My name is Hannah. I grew up around horses, dogs and cats, I developed a deep and passionate love for all furry friends with a special affinity for dogs. For many years, I worked in the corporate world across various industries. At some point, I realised that I felt empty on the inside because I did not pursue what I had in my heart all along - a desire to work with dogs.

Having reached the point where I wanted to bring about a career change, I started volunteering as a canine assistant at the SPCA here in Dunedin, which I absolutely loved. During this time, my heart's desire to work with dogs grew stronger and stronger, and I started studying for and completed a qualification in Dog Psychology, Behaviour and Training. The SPCA gave me the opportunity to do obedience training with their rescue dogs on a volunteer basis, and I was also offered the privilege to train the dogs of friends.

Driven by these successes as a dog trainer, I decided to establish Paws4Success. Paws4Success sets out to transform dogs and coach dog owners in understanding their dog's language, -wolf- seeing the world through their eyes and applying the foundational leadership pillars essential in dog ownership. This knowledge enables dog owners to have a peaceful and harmonious relationship with their dogs; with their dog obeying their owners out of respect for the owner as the pack leader once the dog sees the owners as the pack leaders. That very special moment when your dog sees you as the leader of the pack changes virtually everything!

I have a special place in my heart for rescue dogs who, more often than not, through no fault of their own, need to find another home but who may have gone through some trauma in their lives. Rescue dogs have special needs, and it is an absolute privilege for me to help rescue dog owners form a lifelong bond with their rescue dogs- the bond whose foundations are the gentle leadership principles applied in a wolf pack. Once the rescue dog's trauma is overcome, a deep bond between the rescue dog and the owner can develop that prevents the yoyo-effect so many rescue dogs experience and suffer from.

My knowledge about the behavioural dynamics within a wolf pack and its hierarchical structure I have obtained by completing a Foundation Course in Amichien Bonding as well as by reference to other relevant study materials from varying sources.
